Machenike 14 Ultra: 1.1 kg, 2.8K 120 Hz Display and Up to 17.5 Hours of Battery Life
Machenike has launched the 14 Ultra in China, a lightweight laptop whose configuration with an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor, 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD is already available for purchase. The starting price is 8,499 yuan (around €1,030 at current exchange rates) and drops to 7,224.15 yuan (around €875) when the national subsidy for this type of equipment is applied.
What the Machenike 14 Ultra brings: metal chassis and 1.1 kg weight
The 14 Ultra features a metal chassis: aerospace-grade aluminum on the lid and magnesium on the C face, with anodized finish. The total assembly weighs around 1.1 kg and is 15.9 mm thick — mobility figures that point to carrying it all day.
The display is 14 inches, with a 2.8K resolution (2,880 × 1,800), 16:10 aspect ratio and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The manufacturer declares 400 nits of brightness, DC dimming to avoid flicker, and hardware-level blue light reduction.

Battery life, cooling and connectivity
The battery is 70 Wh and supports fast charging via USB-C PD up to 65 W. The promotional material for the device announces up to 17.5 hours of use — a laboratory figure that should be taken as an advertised reference rather than measured real-world battery life.
For cooling, Machenike uses two fans and two heat pipes, a design aimed at keeping temperatures under control during sustained loads. In terms of connectivity, the 14 Ultra incorporates Thunderbolt 4 at 40 Gbps, in addition to USB-A and HDMI, so you can connect a monitor, external drive or peripherals without relying on adapters.

Who it’s for and who it isn’t
The 14 Ultra fits those who prioritize mobility, a good display and broad battery life for working away from home, and don’t need a dedicated GPU: it’s an ultraportable for office work, browsing and light creation. Those looking for sustained performance for gaming or rendering should look at other types of device; here the bet is on contained power consumption, not peak power.
The proposal recalls other recent lightweight devices playing the same weight-and-display card, such as the HP OmniBook 5, with which it shares the goal of challenging high-end ultraportables at a lower price. For now, the Machenike 14 Ultra is only announced for the Chinese market.
