FRONTIER Sells 50 Units of Commemorative PC for Intel's 50th Anniversary in Japan

Intel’s Japanese subsidiary is turning 50 and the Japanese manufacturer Inversenet has decided to celebrate it through its custom PC brand FRONTIER. The company has announced a limited-edition desktop special run of just 50 units, already available in its direct sales store. The system is built on high-end components and features a finish that pays homage to the chipmaker.

An Edition with an Intel Signature

The base is the full-tower chassis from FRONTIER’s GBL series, to which side panels featuring a custom Intel sheet have been added. The ensemble completes the aesthetic with ARGB strips and an RGB-controlled CPU cooler, all unified in the brand’s characteristic blue.

The box doesn’t come alone: the package includes a set of four badges, stickers, and two collectible figures, one in blue and the other in red.

Three Configurations, One Common Base

FRONTIER offers three models and all share the same processor and graphics combination. The CPU is handled by the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, with 24 cores (8 performance and 16 efficiency) and 24 threads. According to the manufacturer, its interconnect bus rises from 2.1 GHz in the previous generation to 3.0 GHz, representing an increase of around 42%, which, according to the company, reduces latency and helps improve frames per second in games.

On the graphics side, the systems rely on the GeForce RTX 50 series, based on NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture and featuring fifth-generation Tensor cores and fourth-generation RT cores. On paper, that foundation reinforces real-time ray tracing and AI processing, in addition to enabling DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation to sustain image rates without sacrificing visual quality.

For cooling, the GBL chassis combines a mesh front with two 16cm fans and one 14cm fan. Its dimensions are approximately 232mm wide, 493mm high, and 496mm deep.

What to Keep in Mind

Unlike other anniversary proposals focused on the card itself, such as the GeForce RTX 5080 de 30.º aniversario de Manli, here the homage is distributed across the chassis, lighting, and merchandise. The piece is supported by manufacturer data and a high-end configuration, but the announcement does not include prices or measured performance figures. That leaves out, for now, any price-per-frame or watts-per-performance reading: the 42% cited corresponds to the CPU’s interconnect bus, not the GPU, and does not equate to a proportional improvement in games.

What is relevant for someone looking for a new system is not so much the commemorative packaging as the component combination: it confirms that the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and RTX 50s are already ready to buy in high-end prebuilts. To judge whether that price/performance ratio makes sense, the prudent thing is to wait for independent analyses with specific games, resolutions, and settings before deciding.
