Vivo Buds Clip: Open-Ear Headphones for Europe with Reported Price of €179

The Vivo Buds Clip expand their international reach with a European reference priced at €179, according to information published by GizmoChina on November 2. They are open-ear clip-on headphones: they attach to the outer part of the ear without sealing the ear canal. The Spanish vivo website already lists their specifications, but the consulted sheet does not allow confirming an official price or availability for Spain.

It is advisable to separate the news date from the presentation. GizmoChina places the international event in Tenerife on October 27, not today, and notes that European sales began afterward. The same outlet reports €179.90 for Italy. These are commercial references of the outlet, not a Spanish tariff that can be considered closed.

Vivo Buds Clip: a 5.2-gram clip, not an isolating earphone

The official vivo sheet in Spain states 5.2 grams per earpiece and a flexible Cloud-Fit bridge made of titanium alloy with shape memory. The acoustic capsule sits in front and the balancing piece is behind the ear; the bridge keeps them together. The symmetrical design allows using either unit in both ears, with automatic side detection.

It is the same format choice we find in the OnePlus Buds Clip, although they are different products. While one model introduces a pad into the canal, here the priority is preserving awareness of the environment. That openness should not be confused with isolation: vivo itself describes a mix of reproduced audio and ambient sound.

Weight is a specification; whether the clip feels comfortable for hours depends on adjustment to each ear. Without our own usage test, we cannot turn the manufacturer’s comfort promise into an analysis conclusion.

Sound and calls: two functions worth distinguishing

Each unit incorporates a 12 mm driver. The brand offers ten-band equalization, spatial audio, and balanced, voice enhancement, and leak prevention modes. The latter seeks to reduce sound heard by those around you; it does not equate to guaranteeing completely private listening.

The announced noise cancellation refers to calls. It combines two microphones with a VPU bone-conduction sensor to capture the voice and reduce interference. It should not be read as a promise of active noise cancellation while listening to music.

There are also differences depending on the phone. Sound modes require vEarphones 9.2.40.0 or later; for equalization, phones from other brands need the app. Spatial audio has additional requirements and, according to vivo, non-brand phones only support standard mode via vEarphones. Before buying for a specific feature, it is important to check that compatibility, not just whether the phone has Bluetooth.

Up to 42 hours, counting case recharges

Vivo announces up to ten hours per charge and 42 hours total with the case. These are not 42 consecutive hours with the earphones on. Fast charging promises up to three hours of playback after ten minutes connected.

The official conditions provide context for those figures: lab tests with MP3 music, AAC codec, volume at 50%, and sound effects disabled. They are manufacturer-declared maximums, not results measured by TechSpain24, and real-world use may vary with volume, software, and enabled features.

Connection supports up to three devices from Android and Apple ecosystems. Management via vEarphones requires Android 13 or iOS 14.0 or later, while certain compatible vivo phones can use it directly. This is a relevant function for switching between computer, phone, and tablet, always within those conditions.

Finally, IP55 protection applies only to the earphones, not the case, and is not permanent against wear. The sheet also limits wireless charging to the version that incorporates that capability: do not assume any variant offers it.

The interest of the Buds Clip lies in listening without closing the ear and managing multiple devices. For those seeking isolation, the approach is different. And for evaluating their quality-price ratio in Spain, there still remains comparing the published European reference with a local offer detailing cost, variant, and availability.
