The shadPS4 project has published the 2026-09-29-736b5ba pre-release, identified by commit 736b5ba. This build focuses on fixing several configuration settings and provides packages for Windows, Ubuntu, Linux with SDL and macOS with SDL.
The shadPS4 pre-release fixes settings that were not being read
The main change fixes the implementation of the recently added userfaultfd and inline_fetch_shader settings. According to the project history, both were present in the configuration but were not being read correctly.
The release also moves the Windows guest red-zone protection option into the general settings category. In the interface, it changes from a selector to a checkbox and requires an emulator restart.
Compatibility with existing configurations
The project retains compatibility with the previous red-zone protection configuration in per-game profiles. That conversion means users who already used the setting do not need to edit their configuration files manually after installing the pre-release.
The fix concerns how settings behave; it does not announce a specific expansion of game compatibility. The update is therefore particularly relevant to users with custom profiles or the corrected technical options.
Downloads for four platforms
The release includes files for 64-bit Windows, 64-bit Ubuntu, Linux with SDL and macOS with SDL. As this is a pre-release, users should verify the source of each download and keep a known working configuration before replacing an existing installation.
