Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 3: iOS support, Bluetooth 6.0 and 790-day battery

Two Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 3 trackers, one white and one black

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag 3, its new item tracker, with a change that breaks the Galaxy ecosystem barrier: from now on it can also pair with an iPhone. The device starts at $29.99 for a single unit and $99.99 for a four-pack, and for now it only has a confirmed date in South Korea (October 7) and the United States (November), with no price or availability details for Spain.

A smaller SmartTag 3 with more battery life

The SmartTag 3 is 35% smaller in volume and 33% lighter than the SmartTag 2. It keeps a rounded shape, adds an aluminum button and carries an IP67 rating against water and dust.

Battery life is one of the arguments of the launch: Samsung puts it at up to 550 days on the standard setting and up to 790 days if power-saving mode is enabled. These are lab figures that should be read with caution, since they depend on real-world use, but they place the tracker above much of its competition in a product that does not want you to charge it every few months.

iOS, Bluetooth 6.0 and UWB: what changes for the user

Until now Samsung’s trackers only worked inside the Galaxy ecosystem. The SmartTag 3 also connects iOS devices through the SmartThings Find network. In practice, this lets households with an iPhone and an Android phone track the same item, check its location history and use local search without depending on a specific phone brand.

To locate the item, the tracker uses Bluetooth 6.0 with Channel Sounding, a standard that can show distance and direction from up to 60 meters, roughly three times the range of the previous model. As the person gets closer, it switches to ultra-wideband (UWB) for more precise location. If the tag falls out of the phone’s Bluetooth range, the Galaxy Find network comes into play, relying on other opted-in Samsung devices in the area to relay its position.

Samsung also adds automatic features so you do not have to open the app: place notifications (an alert when the tag enters or leaves a specific area), movement alerts, “Left Behind” alerts if the phone disconnects from the tracker, and a location history log. The physical button can control smart home devices compatible with SmartThings, and the NFC chip lets whoever finds the tag tap it with their phone to see the registered contact details.

Price and availability

The Galaxy SmartTag 3 comes in black and white. It costs $29.99 for one or $99.99 for a four-pack, plus two optional accessories: a silicone case and a loop case for attaching it to keychains or backpacks. The launch starts in South Korea on October 7, 2026, and it will arrive in the United States in November.

For Spain, there is no announced date or price yet. Anyone looking for a tracker with iPhone support will have to wait for Samsung to detail its European launch, or look at the alternatives already on sale. At $29.99 at origin, the proposition is competitive, but without a euro price a purchase verdict for the Spanish market cannot be settled.
