Vivo Publishes OriginOS 7 Calendar: Which Models Get Android 17 and When

Vivo phones displaying the OriginOS 7 interface over Android 17

Vivo already has a calendar for OriginOS 7, its layer based on Android 17. The company starts the rollout in late October in India and extends it in phases until February, starting with the X300 and foldable X Fold 5. This is the roadmap for the Indian market, the showcase that Vivo typically uses to announce such plans, and it serves as a measure of how long the company keeps its phones updated.

The OriginOS 7 Calendar, Model by Model

The distribution follows the usual criteria: first the flagship devices and foldables, then the mid-range and entry-level models. These are the confirmed windows to date:

Window Models
Late October Vivo X300, X300 Pro, X300 FE, X300 Ultra, X Fold 5
Mid-November Vivo X200T, X200, X200 Pro, X200 FE
Mid-December Vivo X100, X100 Pro, X Fold 3 Pro, V60e, V60, V70 FE, V70, V70 Elite
Late December Vivo V50, V50e
End of January Vivo T5 Pro, T5, T5x, T4 Ultra, T4 Pro, T4, T4R, T3 Ultra, Y51 Pro, V40, V40 Pro, S2 FE, S2
Late February Vivo V30e, V30, V30 Pro, T4x, Y31 Pro, Y400, Y400 Pro

Vivo has not detailed exact dates within each window, so arrival will depend on the model and channel. The company warns that the notification appears directly on the phone when the update is available, but the alert may be delayed.

Why It Matters

OriginOS 7 is not a minor patch: the package takes up several gigabytes depending on the model, and Vivo builds much of its artificial intelligence functionality on top of it. For the buyer, the table also serves as a clue about support: a phone that enters the first wave starts with an advantage over another that has not yet appeared in the calendar. The fact that the base is Android 17 places updated Vivos in the same generation as the rest of the major ecosystem layers, something that has not always proceeded at the same pace.

What Changes for You

Before updating, it is advisable to reserve at least 10 GB of free space and check that no previous update remains pending installation. Large downloads with little margin are the usual cause of the process being interrupted. If your model appears in the first phases, it is worth checking settings from time to time instead of waiting for the alert.

An important note: this calendar is for India, and so far it is the only one Vivo has made public. There is no equivalent confirmed date for Spain, so the windows serve as a reference of order and priority, not as a commitment of date for the European market. If you have a model from the list, the update will arrive; if you are thinking about buying a Vivo that does not yet appear in the calendar, that detail should weigh as much as the price.
