OPPO, OnePlus and realme have begun pushing ColorOS 17 to their phones. The manufacturer published the official rollout calendar, which starts today, October 8, and continues for months: the most recent models receive it first, with the tail end reaching into early 2027. For anyone using their phone daily, the practical question is less about what the new version brings than when their model gets its turn.
The ColorOS 17 calendar, phase by phase
The first batch, today’s one, is reserved for the most recent flagship models from all three brands:
- OPPO: Find N6, Find N6 in satellite communication version, Find X9 Ultra, Find X9 Ultra with satellite communication, Find X9s Pro, Find X9 Pro, Find X9 Pro with satellite communication and Find X9.
- OnePlus: OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15T.
- realme: GT8 Pro and GT8 Pro limited edition Aston Martin F1.
On October 16 the second batch arrives, focused on the previous generation and tablets:
- OPPO: Find N5 and its satellite communication version, Find X8 Ultra and its satellite version, Find X8s+, Find X8s, Find X8 Pro and its satellite version, Find X8, Pad 5 Pro, Pad Mini and Pad Mini in matte finish.
- OnePlus: OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13T and Pad 3 Pro.
- realme: GT7 Pro, GT7 Pro fast edition, GT8 and Neo8.
On days October 20, 22 and 30 the first month is completed with watches and mid-range devices:
- October 20: OPPO Watch X3 and Watch X3 Mini; OnePlus Ace 6, Ace 6 top edition and Ace 6T, plus a special edition of the Ace 6T inspired by a video game.
- October 22: OPPO Reno16 Pro and Reno16.
- October 30: OPPO Watch X2 and Watch X2 Mini.
From then on, the calendar opens to older devices. In November 2026 enter, among others, the Find N3 series and the Find X7 Ultra, the Reno15 and Reno14 families, several models of the K series, tablets and the OPPO Watch S from OPPO; the OnePlus 12, the Ace 5 series, the Turbo 6 series and old tablets; and the realme GT5 Pro, the GT7 series, the Neo7 series and the realme 15 series.
In December 2026 it is the turn of the Find X6 series, the Reno13 series and older K series models, along with the OnePlus 11, the Ace 3 series, the realme GT6 and the GT Neo6 series. The oldest list goes to the first quarter of 2027: the first confirmed names are two foldables, the OPPO Find N2 and the Find N2 Flip.
Why it matters: three brands, one system
The relevance of the announcement is not a specific feature, but the coordination. OPPO, OnePlus and realme share a platform and this time receive the same version on a common calendar, instead of dividing the work into separate builds by brand. For the user, that translates into something noticeable in the medium term: a wider device park with the same software base and, on paper, a support policy that does not stop at the top-end range.
It is worth reading it with perspective. ColorOS is OPPO’s layer, and the batched rollout is standard practice to avoid saturating servers and allow corrections on the fly. A model appearing in the list does not mean the update arrives on the exact date marked: dates mark the start of each phase and the notice may take time to appear.
What changes for the user
If your phone is in the first batches, the update is coming and it is worth checking the notice from Settings. If it appears in December or 2027, the wait is months: there is no reason to force anything through unofficial channels, which is the fastest way to lose warranty and have an unstable device.
The useful reference is support, not launch. A mid-range phone that continues to receive major versions years later retains resale value and, above all, up-to-date security patches. Anyone buying with a view of three or four years of use will do well to look at this calendar before the megapixel of the moment. For the rest, the appointment is simple: check if yours is on the list and, if it is, let the notice arrive on its own.
A contextual note: the company had already been rolling out ColorOS Watch on its watches, as in the case of the OPPO Watch S2 and ColorOS Watch 17, so this move fits a common software strategy for phones and wearables.
